Hands-on temporal bone dissection workshop

AOI MUMBAI successfully completed a step by step hands on Temporal bone dissection workshop at Govandi Shatabdi hospital on 12-13th July 2024 with 24 delegates from all over India registered for it. Senior faculty Dr MORWANI sir and Dr NARAYAN JAYSHANKER sir provided guidance and their valuable time. Faculty who joined us as mentors to personally guide the delegates were Dr Prashant Kewle and Dr Vaishali Shah, Dr Adip Shetty, Dr Dhanshree Chiplunkar, Dr Devarshi Mhatre, Dr Asmita Mhadvi, Dr Sapna Patil, Dr Dev, Dr Palak Shroff, Dr Sachin Nemane, Dr Devika Kulkarni, Dr Rohini, Dr Paresh Naik

WORLD THYROID DAY 

AOI MUMBAI Branch celebrated WORLD THYROID DAY on 25th May 2024 by organising Thyroid Awareness Program in various hospitals where patients were encouraged to regularly &  promptly get themselves  checked in case of suspected thyroid pathology. They were also educated regarding the signs and symptoms of thyroid hormonal imbalance, their effects on the body if not regularised. The need for regular check up of the enlarged thyroid gland and its importance in early detection and treatment of thyroid cancer was also emphasised.

World Voice Day CME

AOI Mumbai successfully conducted the “World voice day” CME At Hinduja hospital on 21st April 2024 with excellent interactive sessions and lectures under  the expert guidance of Dr Milind Kirtane and Dr Nupur Kapoor Nerurkar. 

The event started with symposium on swallow. Insightful information was shared by Dr Shama Kovale, Dr Farha Kazi, Ms Zainab Nagree, Ms Nehal Kothari and Mr Bhushan Jirgale in their lectures. 

The symposium on voice was conducted by Dr Nupur Nerurkar, Dr Anagha Joshi and singing therapist Ms Anuradha Bantwal.

The event ended with a panel on medicolegal problems in Laryngology conducted by Dr Nupur Nerurkar.

It was a well attended gathering with over 100 delegates.

CME on ‘management of CSF leak’ 

AOI Mumbai organised a CME on Management of CSF leak on 4th Feb 2024 at Hinduja Hospital. The esteemed speakers of the event were Dr Milind Kirtane, Dr Narayan Jaishankar, Dr Nishit Shah and Dr Zena Patel (radiologist).

After a series of enlightening lectures by the speakers, Dr Kirtane also shared videos of his vast experience of interesting cases on CSF leak. The event was attended by more than 100 delegates and was a huge success. 

CME on Vertigo

AOI Mumbai organised a CME on Vertigo on 17th June 2023 at Andheri. Various aspects of vertigo were discussed in depth by the esteemed speakers. 

Dr Milind Kirtane sir was the program director and shared his vast clinical experience of treating vertigo patients. Live from U.K, Prof Dr. Peter Rea spoke about the recent developments in management of vertigo. Dr Anirban Biswas, a renowned neurotologist and specialist in vertigo spoke about the relevance of vestibular physical therapy in management of vertigo. Other speakers Dr Srinivas Dorasala, Dr Anita Bhandari, Dr Charulata Sankhla (neurologist), Dr Vihang N. Vahiya (psychiatrist) and Dr Sangeeta Varty spoke about the various aspects of vertigo. 

The event was a huge success and was attended by over 250 delegates. 

Anesthetics in ent

AOI Mumbai in association with K.B.Bhabha hospital, Bandra successfully conducted CME on ” Aesthetics in ENT” on 20th Jan 2023 With Dr Mohan Jagde and Dr Jyotsna Jagtap as the Guest speakers.
Glad to announce that it received tremendous response with more than 100 registrations.

CME ON RADIOLOGY IN ENT ON 6th March 2022 in Nanavati Hospital
It was overwhelming to see a packed auditorium for an academic event , after almost 2years ! AOI Mumbai branch in association with Nanavati Max Super Speciality Hospital organised a CME on Radiology in ENT , eloquent speakers , covered 8 important talks. Dr Samir Bhargava, President , AOI, spoke on the importance of universal newborn hearing screening and Dr Christopher DeSouza, Consultant, Leelavati Hospital spoke on Implantable Hearing devices.

World Cancer Day Awareness Programme

 

AOI Mumbai Branch observes World Cancer Day On 4th February 2020, AOI Mumbai Branch observed World Cancer day in HBTMedical College and Dr R N Cooper Hospital. The event was innaugurated by Dean Dr Pinakin Gujar. Dr Ninad Gaikwad, Head of ENT Department gave an overview followed by a talk on World Cancer Day by Dr Samir Bhargava, Hon President, AOI. The event witnessed an audience of Doctors, Cancer patients and survivors attending awareness talks by oncosurgeons Dr Vikram Sanghvi and Dr Ritu Sheth. There was a poster competition on theme of World Cancer Day by nursing students who made beautiful posters which highlighted the causes of cancers, treatment, and lifestyle modifications needed to prevent Cancer. The high point of the event was an inspirational talk by Cancer Survivor and Bollywood producer Mr Harish Shah for the benefit of other cancer patients. In Mr Harish Shah’s own words, Cancer has started the fight but he will finish the fight. His message to other cancer victims in the audience was ‘Never give up. In keeping with this year’s World Cancer Day theme ‘ I Am and I Will’, all those who participated in the various events, Doctors, Nurses, care givers, volunteers, cancer patients and survivors alike took it upon themselves to pledge themselves as fighters against cancer who will continue doing their best to win the war against Cancer. Besides this event, several Cancer detection camps were conducted by ENT surgeons across Mumbai, to support this turf, initiative_

AOI Mumbai Branch Won Best Branch Award In National Conference AOI, Nagpur

Secretary at the recently concluded National Conference AOICON in Nagpur, held on 9 to 12th Jan 2020. AOI Mumbai Branch World Deaf Day Sept 30 2019

AOI Mumbai branch in collaboration with Ali Yavar Jung institute for Hearing and Speech Disabilities celebrated the World Deaf Day on Sept 30 at the Ali Yavar Jung campus at Bandra. The day is celebrated to highlight the achievements of the hearing impaired population and create awareness amongst the public regarding the difficulties that these patients face.
Bollywood producer Shri Mukesh Bhatt was the Chief Guest and Rotarian Shri Ashok Mehra was the Guest of Honour. Thanks to Dr Suni Mathew Director AYJ and Dr P J Martin Mathew for hosting this event. I spoke on Cochlear Implant – ENT perspective on Early Intervention for Hearing Impaired Children . There was a beautiful cultural presentation by students from Shruti school for the hearing impaired. This is one of the steps in the right direction to convince the Govt to make Newborn Hearing Screening mandatory and Universal .Excellent organisation by Dr Yogesh Dabholkar, Dr Kaushal Sheth, Dr Ajay Doiphode and Dr Adip Shetty from AOI Mumbai ensured that the programme was a huge success. Mr Bhatt and Mr Mehra expressed their willingness to help in every way so that no hearing impaired child who needs help goes undetected

AOI Mumbai branch in association with ENT Department HBT Trauma Care Municipal and HBTMC & Dr R.N .Cooper Hospital organised a Live Surgical Workshop -“Rhinoplasty Simplified” on 19/1/19 in HBT Trauma Care Hospital
Dr Virendra Ghaisas ( Pune) , leading Rhinoplasty surgeon , demonstrated 2 fantastic surgeries , Talks by various National Faculties & for the first time , a very interesting Quiz on Rhinoplasty was conducted by Dr Kshitij Patil .
We had 150 plus Rhinoplasty interested delegate attendance ,3 from overseas UK, Afganistan & Kuwait !

2. Posters should stimulate discussion, do not give a long presentation. Therefore, keep text to a minimum, emphasize graphics, and make sure every item in your poster is necessary.

3.Judges will select the best poster in the contest. Selection will be based on the level of the research, quality of the poster, and clarity of the presentation. The winning poster will be displayed on AOI Mumbai website and the winning presenter will be awarded a a unique commemorative trophy and certificate by Dr A.G.Pusalkar.
Eligibility
1. Open only for PG Students
2. Entry restricted to 2 students per each Medical College
3. The presentations should consist of well-prepared visual materials about the work.
4. It is required that an author be in attendance to present details and answer questions during the poster session time.
5. Because the award will be made at the end of session, it is recommended that the authors be present for the majority of the session.

Nature of the Award
This award consists of a unique commemorative trophy, a certificate, and a Best Poster ribbon (attached to the winning poster).
